ghosts

Lyin’ and freezin’

Evening comes on the big screen

Fast, day by day

The sea’s gone dry

I never realized

Dust of my question remains on my fingers

After all this time still i’m waiting for answers

Ghosts come at sunset

Share my bed and whisper in my ear

They lie upon my body as stony sheets

I cannot fall asleep

They show me all my fears

Calling them by name

However hard I try to close my eyes

The hurt is just the same

Red the flower in my side

Pain is beating

See life in flowers

White worms heave

Flesh is eaten

Dust of my question remains on my fingers

The wind of your answer

He can’t blow anything away

Nothing away

My ghosts come at sunset

Filling up my eyes and mouth with sand

I try to breathe grabbing at the air

To take your helping hand

Since the day you left me

I can feel they chase me everywhere

I reach out for help and tumble into the void

For no one’s there

(If only I could breathe…

If only I could… see… instead)

Hold the tears in my heart

Consequence of unlistened prayers

“Please, listen to me”

So Jesus showed me shelter

Then gave me rain…

Wait for the day to come

Wait ’till the ghosts are gone

Daylight is still so far

But so much nearer than you are

My ghosts come at sunset

Share my bed and whisper in my ear

I try to fall asleep – I only fall

They’re feeding on my fear

Who cares says “patience,

It only takes a little time”

But all i see by now is ghosts

And so far still they come…

Still they come…

Still they come…
